CCAI is thrilled to bring 26 years of Angels in Adoption to one of D.C.'s newest and coolest venues: Capital Turnaround. Capital Turnaround is "a new face on a historic space at the intersection of Capitol Hill, Navy Yard, and the Capitol Riverfront." They go on to share that, "for nearly a century, the Navy Yard Car Barn served as the last stop on the Red Line, repairing and rerouting streetcars across the nation’s capital for the Capital Transit Company. Now this historic car barn has been turned into a state-of-the-art event venue with a variety of versatile spaces for hosting social events."

As it has since 1891, the site of the Navy Yard Car Barn continues to welcome in the national community to get energized and build connection before rerouting and sending folks back to their own communities to continue on the good work – just like Angels in Adoption®. For two and a half decades, CCAI's Angels in Adoption® has empowered advocates and engaged Congress on issues related to permanency and child welfare. The Angels program exists to celebrate the progress and good work that has been done, while also raising awareness on the existing barriers that prevent children from finding permanency.

CCAI is a catalyst on Capitol Hill. As a convener, CCAI brings together voices of experience and expertise to the U.S. Congress. When Members of Congress hear direct experiences of those affected by child welfare systems, they become engaged in this issue and work to bring about legislative improvements to ensure each child's right to a family is realized.

The Angels in Adoption® Celebration will continue to uplift Capital Turnaround’s long history and commitment to community, and we look forward to celebrating with you on September 10!
